UAE, Egyptian presidents meet over Mideast peace, bilateral ties

President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday held talks with his Egyptian counterpart Hosni Mubarak over the Middle East peace process and bilateral relations, the official Emirates News Agency reported.

During the meeting, the two presidents discussed the international efforts for establishing security and stability in the Middle East in line with the legitimate international resolutions as well as the Arab peace initiative, according to the report.

Sheikh Khalifa and Mubarak also reviewed the ways to enhance bilateral relations, especially in the fields of economy, trade and investment.

The two leaders also reiterated the need for activating joint Arab work, coordination among them, and consultation on every issue concerning Arabs and Muslims.

Mubarak, who arrived in Abu Dhabi on Monday, is on a two-day official visit in the UAE.
