Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will meet on Tuesday in Jerusalem as part of their regular meetings to follow up the progress of peace talks, Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erekat said on Sunday.

The meeting will be held at Olmert's residence in Jerusalem and will focus on several outstanding key points, known as the final-status issues, Erekat told radio of Israel.

However, the radio said there was no official confirmation from the Israeli government.

A newly-formed Israeli governmental body for the negotiations will meet Sunday to form specialized negotiation committees to arrange with their Palestinian counterparts on the details of the outstanding issues, according to Israel's radio.

The peace talks, which revived at a U.S.-hosted conference in last November after a halt of six years, mark time due to the continuation of building of Israeli settlements in the West Bank and armed conflicts in Gaza.
