Visiting Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Tuesday his country will make utmost efforts for goals set during the Annapolis peace conference held last November.

Israel expects mutual understanding and coexistence with Palestine, Olmert said in a speech.

The Israeli prime minister, who started his four-day Japan tour from Monday, met with Japanese Defense Minister Shigeru Ishiba in the evening and discussed issues including threat of nuclear and missile proliferation.
