Thirty-two Palestinians were killed and 100 wounded on Saturday in an Israeli army large-scale ground operation on northern Gaza Strip, Mo'aweya Hassanein, chief of emergency and ambulance services in the ministry of health, told reporters.
Earlier the death toll was reported as 27 and 60 were wounded.
The latest casualties included five Palestinians, said Hassanein, adding that among the 32 Palestinians killed, there are three children, who were killed in air and ground strikes carried out by rockets and shells.
Among the 100 injured, 20 are in serious conditions, he said.
Hassanein warned of a humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip, where has been plagued with shortage of fuel and medical aids, amid an ongoing Israeli military operation.
The Israeli army rolled into the eastern territories of northern Gaza Strip after midnight in an apparent attempt to distance Palestinian rocket squads from the border and curb their home-made rocket attacks.
By now, Israel killed 65 Palestinians and wounded 200 since Wednesday.
