Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas held urgent contacts with world leaders to put an end to the Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip, a spokesman said on Saturday.
Abbas' contacts aimed to push for holding urgent meetings in the Arab League and the UN Security Council, said the spokesman Nabil Abu Rdineh.
The spokesman of the Palestinian Presidency also called on the international community, especially the so-called international Quartet for Middle East peace, to intervene immediately to stop the Israeli attacks in Gaza Strip.
On Saturday, 32 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli military operation in northern Gaza Strip.
Saturday's incursion by Israeli army forces followed three days of intensive aerial attacks on Gaza which have killed 65 Palestinians, including children and women.
