An Israeli soldier was died Thursday morning during a preliminary explosion near Kissufim, an Israeli town adjacent to the Gaza Strip, an army source told Xinhua.

The source said that the victim was died of injuries after the bombing, which caused another soldier of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) wounded.

The spokeswoman of IDF refused to reveal any details, saying that the army has ordered an inspection into the attack.

Overnight Wednesday, IDF troops arrested ten Palestinian fugitives during operations in the West Bank. All of the detainees were transferred to security forces for further interrogation.

Meanwhile, other media reported that Palestinian military said they blew up an Israeli army jeep on the Gaza Strip border Thursday morning.

The jeep appeared to have been destroyed by the explosion at the Kissufim border crossing in central Gaza, and two tanks and an ambulance rushed to the scene, according to a witness.

Later, a spokesman for the Islamic Jihad militant group claimed responsibility for the attack.
