Palestinian militant groups, mainly Hamas movement celebrated on Thursday evening the armed attack carried out in Jerusalem, where at least six Israelis were killed and other 35 others wounded.

Militants fired in the air, and threw sound bombs in the streets, while drivers pressed on their cars horns. Other Palestinians delivered candies and sweets in the streets in celebration.

Mosques loudspeakers in Gaza also broadcasted verses of the Quran, the Moslem holy book, with speakers saying "we congratulate our people for the heroic and selective attack in Jerusalem."

Sami Abu Zuhri, spokesman of Hamas movement in Gaza told reporters that "this attack is a selective operation that came as a reaction to the crimes of the Israeli occupation and the massacres against civilians in the Gaza Strip."

So far no one has claimed responsibility for the attack on a religious school in Jerusalem at nightfall Thursday, where two gunmen infiltrated into the school and opened fire at Jewish students there, killing at least six Israelis and wounding many others.
