Israeli forces arrested 17 Palestinian residents in the West Bank during raids overnight and at dawn, Palestinian security sources said on Tuesday. The detentions took place in Nablus, Hebron, Ramallah, Bethlehem and Salfeet, the sources said, adding that the people were taken from their houses.
Israeli radio said the 17 were wanted by the army. In the house of one of the detainees in Hebron, the soldiers found two rifles and bullets, the Israeli radio added. The Israeli army carries out daily incursions in West Bank cities and village, arresting tens of people for interrogation.
