Israeli troops on Wednesday arrested 16 Palestinians in various West Bank cities, claiming they were wanted, Palestinian security sources said.
The sources added that the detentions took place in Jenin, Bethlehem, Hebron, Qalqilya and Qalandia refugee camp near Jerusalem.
Israeli radio said all of the detainees were taken for interrogation.
The Israeli army operates in the West Bank on a daily basis despite diplomatic efforts aiming at supporting the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks which still mark time since they were launched late last year.
Earlier in the morning, Israeli forces killed a Palestinian of the Islamic Jihad movement's military wing near Tulkarem.
