Palestinian Islamic Jihad (Holy War)movement said on Thursday that its militants resumed the rocket attack on southern Israel in revenge for the killing of four Palestinian militants by Israel in West Bank town of Bethlehem.

Saraya al-Quds, the armed wing of the movement, said in a statement that a total of 25 missiles have been fired since early Thursday with 14 home-made rockets targeting southern Israeli town of Sderot and other mortar shells fired at Israeli army posts alongside Gaza-Israel borders.

Meanwhile, Israeli media report said that a number of Qassam rockets landed in Western Negev and Sderot, causing damages without casualties.

The shelling is the most violent in the past days, during which a sort of calmness prevailed since Israel withdrew its troops from Gaza following days of military escalation that killed 125 Palestinians.

"There is no room for calmness in the shadow of the continuation of the occupation crimes," the movement said.

On Wednesday, Israeli undercover forces shot dead three Islamic Jihad militants and a fighter from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah near a restaurant in Bethlehem.
