Leaders of Hamas and Islamic Jihad (Holy War) movements said Sunday they reject to agree on a cease-fire with Israel under ongoing Israeli strikes on Gaza and West Bank militants.
Khaled al-Batsh, a senior Islamic Jihad leader in Gaza said that the ongoing Israeli strikes on Palestinian militants in Gaza and West Bank "aim at undermining the efforts to reach a cease-fire agreement."
"This Israeli military escalation urges us to say that we are in a stage of confronting the aggression and not in the status of reaching lull. The enemy (Israel) is trying to trick our people by talking about the truce," said al-Batsh.
Israel on Saturday killed three Islamic Jihad militants, and wounded six people, one of them is a Hamas militant, who died of his sustained wounds in the hospital on Sunday.
Medics and witnesses said Sunday that three Palestinian militants were injured in a fresh Israeli strike carried out against a Palestinian car in northern Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, Palestinian militant groups launched Sunday three homemade rockets from northern Gaza Strip at southern Israeli town. No injuries were reported.
Fawzi Barhoum, Hamas spokesman in Gaza slammed what he termed as "the security coordination between the authority of Abbas and the Zionist enemy."
"This security coordination between Abbas Authority and the Israeli occupation is for sure legalizing the daily crimes the occupation forces are carrying out against our people," said Barhoum.
