Two Palestinian militants were killed and four wounded in an explosion in southern Gaza City, Palestinian medics and witnesses said on Thursday.
Reports on casualties and reason of the explosion were conflicting.
Palestinian security sources close to Hamas said that two militants were killed and four wounded "in an explosion that was a result of a working accident in a base belongs to al-Qassam Brigades in southern Gaza City."
While Mo'aweya Hassanein, chief of emergency and ambulance service in the Palestinian health ministry, said one Palestinian militant was killed and four wounded in the explosion in southern Gaza City.
Palestinian witnesses said an Israeli aircraft hit a base belonging to Islamic Hamas movement's armed wing al-Qassam Brigades in southern Gaza City with one missile.
But an Israeli army spokesman denied that the Israeli air forces struck any target in the Gaza Strip on Thursday morning.
