Arab foreign ministers convened at Ebla al-Sham Hotel in Damascus on Thursday to make preparation for the 20th Arab summit scheduled on Saturday and Sunday.
Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem is giving a speech at the opening ceremony during which Arab League (AL) Secretary General Amr Moussa will also deliver a speech.
During their one-day meeting, the top Arab diplomats will review the summit agenda passed by permanent delegates to the 22-member pan-Arab bloc including the Palestinian cause, the Arab-Israeli conflict, the situation in Iraq and Arab national security.
The agenda also includes issues pertaining to the host country, namely the occupied Golan Heights and rejection of the American sanctions unilaterally imposed on Syria. Source:Xinhua
