Up to three people were killed and 14 others injured in the suicide car bomb attack targeted Iraqi police patrol in eastern Baghdad on Sunday, an Interior Ministry source said.
"Our latest report said that three people, including a policeman, were killed and 14 others, including seven policemen, were wounded by the attack," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
A suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden car into a police patrol near an intersection near Baghdad's al-Shaab Stadium, the source said.
The blast damaged two police vehicles and one civilian car, he said.
Earlier, a ministry source put the toll at one policeman killed and three others injured.
U.S. and Iraqi security forces sealed off the area as ambulances rushed to evacuate casualties, the source said.
Earlier in the day, a ministry source said that two roadside bomb detonated in a quick succession near an Iraqi Army foot-patrol in the 14th Ramadan Street in Mansour district, killing an officer and wounding four of his soldiers, along with two more civilians.
Violence continues in Baghdad despite the relative lull of violence across the war-torn country, according to U.S. and Iraqi officials.
