Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak has instructed the army to impose a full closure on the West Bank in light of the Remembrance Day for Israeli soldiers and Independence Day, said an army announcement released on Tuesday.
The closure started at midnight Monday and ending at midnight Thursday at the end of Independence Day, according to the announcement from the spokesperson of Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
However, the lifting of the closure will be carried out in accordance with security assessments.
For the duration of the closure the passage of those in need of humanitarian aid as well as doctors, medical personnel and additional professional groups will be authorized by the District Coordination and Liaison offices.
The IDF has said it regards Remembrance Day and Independence Day as a highly sensitive time security wise.
