A roadside land-mine planted by the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) went off in southeastern Turkey on Friday, killing three people and injuring several others in a minibus, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported.

The blast occurred in Sason town of Turkey's southeastern city of Batman as a minibus carrying villagers was passing by, said the report, adding that at least three people were killed while three others were injured.

"It was a remote-control bomb which targeted the minibus" as there were village guards among the passengers, local city governor Recep Kizilcik was quoted as saying.

Rescue teams have been sent by helicopters to the scene of the blast and investigation was still underway, according to the report.
