Islamic Jihad movement on Monday said the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) arrested two of its members in northern West Bank city of Jenin.
In a statement sent to the press, the movement said that members of the Palestinian Intelligence Service arrested Raed Abu al-Rab and Yousef Kmail in the city.
A third member of the movement's armed wing escaped after exchanging fire with the Palestinian forces, the statement added.
In early May, the Palestinian security forces deployed in the city to restore order. The deployment was arranged with Israel.
Palestinian militants groups, such as Hamas and the Islamic Jihad, claim the deployment was meant to target the Palestinian resistance.
Meanwhile, the forces, loyal to President Mahmoud Abbas, continued a one-year-old crackdown on Hamas members in the West Bank.
In Nablus, Hamas said three teenagers, a Hamas member and an Imam were arrested Sunday.
The crackdown started when Hamas ousted Abbas' Fatah movement from Gaza Strip and seized power there.
