Three Palestinians were killed and nine wounded in a series of Israeli army strikes and incursion into southern and northern Gaza Strip on Wednesday morning, medics and witnesses said.
Witnesses said that several Israeli army tanks and bulldozers backed by aircrafts stormed an area east of the village of Abbassan east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza Strip amid intensive gunfire.
They said that during the incursion, Palestinian militants clashed with Israeli soldiers on the ground, adding that Israeli aircrafts launched two airstrikes on the militants, killing two ofthe militants and wounding five others.
Al-Qassam Brigades, Islamic Hamas movement's armed wing said in a statement that one of its militants was killed and two wounded in an Israeli airstrike on the village.
Al-Quds Brigades, Islamic Jihad (Holy War) armed wing said also in a statement that one of its militants was killed and three wounded in another airstrike on the militants in the village of Abbassan.
Mohamed el-Agha, chief of Nasser Hospital in the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza Strip said that two Palestinians were killed and seven wounded in a series of Israeli airstrikes on the village of Abbassan.
The two Islamic armed groups said in a leaflet that their militants launched homemade mortars, detonated roadside bombs and hurled hand grenades at the Israeli army forces.
Meanwhile, a third Palestinian was shot dead and two wounded by Israeli soldiers' gunfire northeast of Jabalia town in northern Gaza Strip. Several Israeli army tanks and bulldozers stormed the area early on Wednesday.
