Iran has presented its package of proposals over its nuclear issue to Javier Solana, European Union (EU) foreign and security policy chief, and United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the official IRNA news agency reported on Wednesday.
The package of proposals was presented to Solana by Iran's Ambassador to Belgium Ali Asghar Khaji and to the UN chief by Iran's Permanent Representative to UN Mohammad Khazaei.
Another copy of the package was also formally presented to Swiss Foreign Minister by Iran's Ambassador to Switzerland, the IRNA said.
The package of proposals was also scheduled to be presented to Russian and Chinese foreign ministers by Iranian ambassadors to those countries, the IRNA reported.
On April 13, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki announced that Tehran was preparing a package to help resolve regional and international problems.
In early May, world major countries negotiating with Iran agreed on a revamped offer of incentives to try to coax the country to roll back its disputed nuclear program.
The United States, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany had previously promised to sweeten the package of political, security and economic incentives they put on the table in June 2006 if Iran suspends its uranium enrichment.
The incentives forged in 2006 included offers of peaceful nuclear technology and lifting of some sanctions, as well as wider trade in civil aircraft, energy, high technology and agriculture. Source: Xinhua
