Israeli forces on Tuesday arrested five Palestinians in an ongoing raid into West Bank city of Qalqilya, Palestinian security sources said.

The detainees were taken from houses and apartment buildings stormed by the soldiers, the sources said, adding that at least two of the detainees were members of Palestinian security services. About 35 Israeli military vehicles rolled into the city at dawn and were still operating, according to the sources.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army also entered Nablus city. So far there were no reports on detentions there, the sources said. Israeli forces often storm villages and cities across the occupied West Bank and carry out detention campaigns against the Palestinians.

A new report issued Monday said that the Israeli forces have arrested 2,700 Palestinians since the beginning of this year.
