Hamas on Sunday denied receiving Israeli response to questions it raised regarding Egypt's offer for a ceasefire.
"We did not get an official reply in this regard and we still wait the response via our Egyptian brothers," said Ismail Radwan, a spokesman for the Islamic movement in Gaza city.
The Egyptian efforts are intended to solve economic crisis and increasing Israeli military attacks that followed Hamas takeover of Gaza Strip a year ago.
"It seems the Zionist enemy was not interested in the lull and it is clear the enemy wants the impasse, siege and blockade to continue in place," Radwan said. "Israel wants a lull without any price in return."
He stressed that Hamas will not wait the Israeli answers for so long time "to break the siege and the Palestinian people have the right to overcome their sanctions."
