Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al Malikion Thursday arrived in Jordanian capital of Amman on a two-day official visit to the country.

Al Maliki said upon arrival that Iraq and Jordan are bound by close and historical ties and his visit will have a positive impact on cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

The Iraqi Prime Minister is expected to meet with Jordan's King Abdullah and Prime Minister Nader Dahabi to discuss a number of political, economic and social issues, according to Jordanian Prime Minister Nader Dahabi.

Dahabi received Al Maliki upon his arrival in Amman. He said Jordan was keen to provide all forms of support to the Iraqi government and people to overcome challenges facing them.
