Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said if the United States makes another false judgment, the Iranian nation would change its status in the region, the official IRNA news agency reported Thursday.
"If the Americans would make another mistake in the region they would be faced with champions that would urge them to wrap up their stuff from the region and flee," Larijani said late Wednesday.
"The Americans had assumed that the occupation of Iraq would bean easy job and that the Iraqi nation would back them up," he said, adding "but the Islamic Republic of Iran's proper strategy in the region made the Americans wonder what they had better do in Iraq."
"They intend to take advantage of the opportunity that is created due to their previous conduct, but they had better know that another misjudgment would lead them to fall in another swamp in which the more they struggle for release the harder they would get entrapped," Larijani added.
Larijani considered "wisdom-based resistance" for safeguarding the Islamic revolution as the "topmost principal observed by the Iranians."
Iran is to respond to the proposal presented by EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana last Saturday on a package of technological and economic incentives for Tehran's suspension uranium enrichment.
Iran's government spokesman Gholam Hossein Elham said last Saturday that the country will reject any nuclear deal offered by major world powers that demands a suspension of its uranium enrichment.
U.S. President George W. Bush has expressed disappointment over Iran's rejection to an offer of incentives for suspending uranium enrichment activities.
