Turkish entertainment and media sector will grow by 16 percent annually and reach a value of 12.5 billion U.S. dollars by 2012, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported on Thursday.

According to a report issued by Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC), a company offering services on audit and assurance, Turkey's entertainment and media sector continues to grow in recent years.

The report indicates that Turkey would be the country in the region with the most growth in internet users.

"The number of internet users in Turkey will reach 12 million by the year 2012," said the report.

Meanwhile, the report said that the number of films shot in Turkey has increased significantly. About 30 films were made in Turkey in 2005, while this number climbed to 70 in 2007.
