Palestinian National Authority (PNA) will come out with a decisive decision regarding peace negotiations with Israel due to the lack of progress, a negotiator said Sunday.

"The PNA considers taking a serious stance towards the issue ofnegotiations because there is no progress," said Yasser Abed Rabbo, a member of the Palestinian negotiation team.

He explained that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the leadership will announce the stance if the expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem does not stop and no progress is made on the main outstanding issues in the short term.

"Israel uses the negotiations to make the world understand that there is a peace process with the Palestinians while it applies a new settlement process on the ground," Abed Rabbo told Voice of Palestine radio.

Building new settlements and expanding the existing blocks prevent the progress of the negotiations which were resumed in November following U.S. efforts.
