Parents of captive Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit must put pressure on their government to accelerate prisoner exchange with the Palestinian, Shalit's captors said on Sunday.

The captors' remarks were made after Shalit's parents appealed for Israel' high court to delay the opening of crossing points into Gaza unless their son is released. The opening was part of an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire that started on Thursday.

"Going to the court is not the way to release Shalit," said Abu Mujahed, spokesman for the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC), one of the groups that joint Hamas in the 2006 cross-border raid in which Shalit was kidnapped.

The decision of Shalit's father to go to the court "proves that he is not interested in his son's fate," Abu Mujahed added, explaining that the ceasefire "might be a good factor to activate Shalit's file."

The Palestinians demand to exchange some 1,000 prisoners for the Israeli corporal who will mark his second year in captivity after four days.

On Sunday, Israel eased the blockade it imposed on the Gaza Strip for a year, allowing some commercial crossings to partly open for goods into the coastal enclave. But Israel said the full lifting of Gaza closure will occur when Shalit is freed.
