A Qassam rocket fired from the Gaza Strip Thursday landed in southern Israeli city of Sderot, the fifth during a one-week-old truce between Israel and Palestinian militant groups in force.
The rocket hit the open area of the industrial zone on the outskirts of the city. There were no reports of injuries or damage, according to army sources.
Hamas accused Israel of violating the Gaza ceasefire earlier Thursday after Israeli Defense Ministry decided to keep the Gaza border crossings closed Thursday, except for special humanitarian cases, in response to Tuesday's Qassam rocket attacks.
"If the crossings remain closed, the truce will collapse," Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said Thursday morning.
Israeli Defense officials said Wednesday night they planned to open the crossings between Gaza and Israel on Friday if there were no more violations of the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire. Source:Xinhua
