Iran's security forces have detained 10 terrorists who were planning bombings and assignation within the Islamic Republic, Iran's Press TV satellite channel said on Thursday.
The arrests took place after Iranian forces recently smashed three terrorist groups in recent days, Brigadier Gholam-Ali Nekoui, the police chief of Iran's southeastern province of Sistan-va-Bluchestan was quoted as saying.
The terrorists armed with missile launchers, semi-automatic rifles and RPG-7s were trained abroad to carry out attacks in Iran, Nekoui said, adding that they were arrested in the cities of Sarbaz and Iranshahr after entering the country from neighboring Pakistan.
Earlier this month, armed terrorists kidnapped 16 Iranian police and took them across the border to Pakistan.
