Israel on Friday allowed the transfer of 600,000 liters of industrial fuel into the Gaza Strip, according to army sources.
Meanwhile, a European Union (EU) official said the fuel would be pumped through the Nahal Oz border terminal to Gaza's sole power station, enough to keep the plant running for several days, local daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported.
The decision was made during a security meeting late Thursday of high-level Israeli officials, who also decided to keep the border crossings into the Gaza Strip closed on Friday because of the latest rocket attacks.
Earlier on Friday morning, two mortar shells fired from northern Gaza Strip landed near a kibbutz in the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council and an open area separately. There were no reports of injuries or damage.
On Thursday, a Qassam rocket fired from the Gaza Strip landed in southern Israeli city of Sderot, the fifth during a one-week-long truce between Israel and Palestinian militant groups.
The Fatah-affiliated Aksa Martyrs Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack. In a text message sent to reporters, it said "the truce must include the West Bank and all sorts of aggression must stop."
