The Lebanese Hezbollah on Wednesday confirmed that they have received the bodies of eight killed fighters via the International Committee of the Red Cross, after Israel handed over them as part of the ongoing prisoner swapprocess.
One of the eight bodies returned to Hezbollah was that of Palestinian Dalal Mughrabi, a woman commando killed 30 years ago, who was regarded by many Arabs as a heroine of the Palestinian resistance, the pan-Arab al-Jazeera TV channel reported Wednesday.
The move came after Hezbollah has handed over remains of two Israeli soldiers, Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev, kidnapped by the Lebanese group two years ago in coffins.
Israel is yet to confirm the identities of those in the coffins before they return four imprisoned Hezbollah militants - Maher Kourani, Khodor Zaidan, Mohammed Srour and Hussein Suleiman - and the Lebanese killer, Samir Kuntar, who was sentenced to life plus 40 years in prison for murdering three family members and a policeofficer in Nahariya in 1979. The identification could take hours.
At the border, Hezbollah leaders have already prepared a red-carpet reception for the returned prisoners, with Lebanese waving flags and beating drums, a waiting for the return of the five. Source:Xinhua
