Three Jordanians are expected to be extradited from Iraqi prisons to Jordan on Saturday, local daily Jordan Times reported on Friday, quoting a foreign ministry official.
The three prisoners, who are due to arrive in Amman on Saturday through the Red Cross, are Abdul Fattah Jammal, Ibrahim Abu Samrahand Hussein Zamel, according to Ahmad Mubaideen, head of the foreign ministry consular department.
The official did not give further details about the charges and prison terms the three served in Iraq, but said the release comes after the kingdom's recent efforts to extradite all Jordanian prisoners in Iraq.
Early this month, Jordan proposed to the Iraqi government to swap non-political prisoners providing that they complete their terms in their home countries, a step intended to spare their families' burden of traveling to see them.
