Jordan's King Abdullah II ordered to bring students from Palestinian refugee camps into the national nutrition program, official news agency Petra reported Tuesday.
About 75,000 students supervised by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) are expected to benefit from this alms deed, which incurs a cost of 3 million Jordanian dinars (about4.2 million U.S. dollars) a year.
The king delivered the order when touring Hitteen Camp, which is home to 45,000 Palestinians many of whom were displaced as a result of the conflict in 1967.
The king during the visit affirmed great concern to improve the living conditions and alleviate the economic burdens facing people there.
The king also inaugurated several projects including a health-care center and a center for early handicapping diagnosis and community rehabilitation.
There are 1.9 million Palestinians registered as refugees in Jordan, 400,000 of which live in refugee camps, according to Petra.
