Jordan and Turkmenistan have planed to open embassies in both capitals to boost bilateral ties, local daily The Jordan Times reported on Monday.
The plan was revealed in a joint communique issued after Jordanian King Abdullah II held talks with Turkmenistan President Qurban Qali Bardi Mohammedov on Sunday during the king's first visit to the central Asian country.
King Abdullah is currently on a tour to Russia, Turkmenistan and France.
According to the joint communique, Abdullah and Mohammedov discussed ways to develop all-round ties and agreed to promote cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, sport and scientific research to enhance understanding between the two peoples.
The two sides also expressed readiness to boost cooperation in fighting against terrorism and international crime that are the main threats to world peace and stability.
The talks also covered the current situation in the Middle East, challenges facing the Muslim World as well as a number of political, regional and international issues of common concern, said the communique.
