In a joint communique issued after their talks held at the Elysee Palace on Wednesday, the two sides stressed the importance of advancing the Middle East peace process towards the establishment of an independent, democratic and viable Palestinian state living side by side in peace and security with Israel.

On Wednesday, the king visited France after touring Russia and Turkmenistan. During his stay in France, the two sides signed the Protocol to the Agreement on the Peaceful use of Nuclear Energy, which would enhance and institutionalize cooperation in the nuclear field between Jordanian and French agencies.
