Palestinian Authority's (PA) ambassador to Egypt on Tuesday slammed Hamas movement for prematurely rejecting the idea of dispatching Arab forces to Gaza Strip.

"There should be no rejection to the deployment of Arab forces in Gaza," the ambassador, Nabil Amr, told Voice of Palestine radio, noting that the Arab forces in the Hamas-controlled Gaza "would definitely be better than the presence of the Israeli forces and their ongoing and frequent violations."

Amr explained that sending Arab troops to Gaza "was just an idea that is not being discussed among the decision-makers," adding such a proposal will help overcoming the current Palestinian political crisis.

Egypt's Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit presented this offer a few days ago as part of his country's efforts to broker a national Palestinian reconciliation. He said Arab forces in Gaza will help settling the crisis.

The Palestinian political crisis widened last year when Hamas routed security forces of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and took over the coastal strip.

Abbas, in return, consolidated his power in West Bank and made several decision to diminish Hamas' rule in Gaza Strip, making the two territories nearly separated in their political affairs.

Hamas also rebuild the security forces in Gaza according to its factional vision.
