Jordan's King Abdullah II on Sunday urged Palestinians and Israelis to reach a just solution to all final status issues, mainly Jerusalem and refugees, the official Petra news agency reported.

The king made the call while holding talks with visiting Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on efforts to push forward the negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis, said Petra.

Abdullah, meanwhile, stressed Jordan's support to the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) to address all final status issues that should lead to the end of the Israeli occupation and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

Jordan will continue to urge the international community to intensify their efforts to prod the sluggish peace process and achieve concrete results, he said.

For his part, Abbas briefed the king on the latest political developments of the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations, mainly talks with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

In his remarks to the press after the talks, Abbas said he will discuss on Monday with Arab foreign ministers in Cairo on the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations.

"We don't want negotiations with Israel to remain ambiguous to any Arab country, particularly with regard to final status issues, such as Jerusalem," he said.

These negotiations are not only in the interest of Palestinians but also in the interest of Arabs and Muslims, Abbas stressed.
