Shiite Lebanese parliament speaker Nabih Berri indirectly hinted after meeting President Michel Suleiman Friday, that Sunni Mustaqbal movement, has been delaying measures to eliminate security tension in the country, local As-Safier daily reported Saturday.

Berri told reporters that various political parties have held several meetings to agree to remove pictures of politicians, and banners which are provoking and triggering tension.

"But, the brethren in Moustaqbal movement have asked for extra time to make the decision," said Berri, wondering when the extra time ends.

Shiite opposition and pro-government Sunni supporters fought fierce battles in May, which ended in a signed accord on May 21 in Doha. The accord calls for the election of a new president, the formation of a national unity government and drafting a new election law.

The first two phases of the accord were implemented, remaining the election law which needs to be ratified in Parliament.

Berri also revealed that he would call for a parliamentary meeting to ratify the election draft law before the end of September.
