The Palestinian Liberation Organization on Sunday issued a report showing "the Israeli violations" since Middle East peace talks were renewed at the U.S.-hosted Annapolis conference in last November.
During this period, Israeli housing ministry approved the construction of 4486 houses in settlements on the occupied Palestinian territories, 92 percent of these new blocks would be built in East Jerusalem and the others are in the West Bank.
The ministry also invited tenders for building 2178 houses, the report said.
The settlement activities in the West Bank and East Jerusalem prevented any breakthrough in the negotiations to establish a Palestinian statehood alongside Israel. The settlements are being built and expanded on what the Palestinians consider part of their future statehood, it said.
Meanwhile, the report said that Israel increased checkpoints and roadblocks in the West Bank by 64 percent since August 2005 and divided the West Bank into four cantons.
Also since Annapolis meeting, Israel killed 494 Palestinians and wounded 1,887 people in the Gaza Strip and West Bank.
Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, whose government approved the resumption of the peace talks with the Palestinians at Annapolis, is resigning Sunday after being indicted for corruption without succeeding to reach a deal with the Palestinians.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' term as a president ends in January and, before this, U.S. President George W. Bush would be quitting the White House.
