Israeli President Shimon Peres said Wednesday that the current Israeli-Palestinian negotiations will be completed next year.

"With the Palestinian, we negotiate full peace," Peres told world leaders attending the UN General Assembly's annual debate.

"Both parties agrees to building a Palestinian State side by side with Israel, living in peace, security and respect," he said.

He said that the talks, initiated late last year as the so-called Annapolis process, may take longer time than expected.

"But I believe it can be accomplished within the next year," he said.

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is "more than ready to conclude an agreement," he said. "Knowing (Palestinian) President (Mahmoud) Abbas, he will not miss this opportunity."
