Israel and Azerbaijan have closed an arms deal worth hundreds of millions of U.S. dollars, local daily Ha'aretz reported Friday.
According to the agreements signed by Israeli Defense Ministry and the Azerbaijani government, Israel will sell ammunition, mortars and radio equipment to the southern Caucasus state, said the report, without elaborating.
The report quoted Minister of National Infrastructures and former defense minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer, who visited Azerbaijan in the past, as saying that the country can serve as a source of oil and gas for Israel.
Meanwhile, Israeli companies have also recently signed deals worth tens of millions of U.S. dollars with Kazakhstan, a neighbor of Azerbaijan, said the report, giving no further details.
