The U.S. military in Iraq said on Sunday that one soldier died of wounds sustained from a vehicle accident in Baghdad.
The military said in a statement that the soldier, assigned to Multi-National Division-Center, died at about 1:00 p.m. (1000 GMT) on Saturday due to fatal wounds sustained more than three hours earlier when his vehicle rolled over in southeastern Baghdad.
The accident is currently under investigation, the statement said.
The name of the deceased soldier is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, it added.
About 4,174 U.S. soldiers have been killed in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
