A Palestinian official said on Monday that Egypt is scheduled to invite leaders of 12 Palestinian factions, including rival Fatah and Hamas for a comprehensive Palestinian dialogue on early November.
Walid el-Awad, member of the People's Party, a left-wing factions, told reporters that all Palestinian factions "are going to Egypt to reach a national Palestinian reconciliation agreement that ends the current status of split."
Since September, Egypt has been holding a series of bilateral talks separately with the leaders of each faction to shape up a working draft paper that would be a key for a Palestinian agreement.
Hamas delegation would be the last faction to talk with senior Egyptian security officials in Cairo on Wednesday to present their views concerning the solution of the current Palestinian crisis.
"In early November, Egypt will invite the leaders of the factions to discuss the conclusion of the draft paper and agree on it. If the paper is agreed upon, it will be passed to the Arab League's Foreign Ministers for approval," he said.
The dialogue in Egypt would focus on ending the current political split, forming a new national unity government that rebuild the security apparatuses in the West Bank and Gaza and preparing for early elections.
"In case a deal is reached, a national qualified government will be formed to reform the security apparatuses and then an ArabQuartet committee would be observing the implementation of the agreement," said el-Awad.
