Turkish police Sunday seized 335 kg of heroin in an anti-drug operation in eastern Turkey, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported.
Acting on a tip-off, the Turkish police stopped a truck on the highway between eastern province of Bitlis and southeastern province of Diyarbakir and found the heroin in 657 packets in the truck, said the report.
It added that the heroin was planned to be sent to the European countries.
Turkey is a key transit route for smuggling drugs from Asia and the Middle East to markets in western Europe.
