Two roadside bomb attacks hit Iraqi police patrol and a U.S. one in Baghdad on Sunday, wounding six Iraqis, a well-informed police source said.
"A roadside bomb went off near a police patrol near the al-Rubaie intersection in the Zayouna neighborhood, wounding two policemen and four bystanders," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
One of the police vehicles was badly damaged by the blast, the source said.
In a separate incident, another roadside bomb struck a U.S. patrol while passing through the al-Qanat Street near Baghdad northern neighborhood of Shaab, the source said.
Police patrols in the area saw a U.S. Humvee was badly damaged, but they could not report whether there was any casualty among the U.S. soldiers as the troops immediately cordoned off the area, preventing the Iraqi police from approaching the scene, the source added.
The U.S. military did not confirm the incident yet.
Violence continues in Baghdad despite the announcement of the U.S. and Iraqi officials about a steep drop of violence as a result of a major security plan aimed at checking the insurgency and sectarian strife in the capital.
