The military wing of Islamic Hamas movement on Thursday threatened that Israel will mostly suffer if it targeted Hamas leaders.
"We will demolish the lull on the head of the Israeli occupation if their threats to assassinate senior Hamas leaders are carried out," said Abu Obaida, a spokesman for Ezz el-Deen al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas.
Hamas and Israel observed an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire since June 19, which calls on Israel to ease the blockade on the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip in exchange for halting rocket-fire by the armed Palestinian groups.
But on Nov. 4, the lull was shattered by a series of Israeli army operations into Gaza Strip and the resumption of rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip.
Last week, Hamas fired heavier rockets into Israel, sparking Israeli diplomatic calls for assassinating Hamas leaders in return.
