A Palestinian lawmaker on Saturday said Palestinian security forces still hold four teenagers for throwing stones at Israeli soldiers in West Bank.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) "follows the arrest of a group of boys since the security forces detained them in Bethlehem at the end of last month," said Khaled Jarar, a PFLP member of the parliament.
The group was made of seven boys, according to Jarar, and the Israelis arrested three of them after they were released by the Palestinian National Authority (PNA).
The PNA is still holding four of the boys, and "their detention is politically-motivated," she said.
Jarar said PNA officials told her the decision to continue holding the four teenagers was made "by highest political levels."
The PNA has often cracked down against Palestinians who fight Israelis by arms and said that it supports the peaceful resistance. Stone-throwing used to be considered part of the unarmed resistance.
