Egypt has managed to deliver some 65tons of relief materials to the Gaza Strip and receive more injured Palestinians since the outbreak of the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Palestinian enclave.
The aid stuffs include medicine and food, the most needed necessities in the coastal strip, the Egyptian state MENA news agency quoted an official source as saying on Tuesday.
Aid materials offered by Qatar and Libya have also been sent into Gaza, said the official.
Egypt decided on Saturday to open the Rafah crossing at its border with Gaza to receive wounded Palestinians and deliver humanitarian aid following Israeli air strikes across the Palestinian enclave.
The first batch of the wounded Palestinians crossed into the Egyptian territory via Rafah on Monday for medical treatments in Egyptian hospitals.
On Tuesday, 15 injured Palestinians in critical condition arrived in Egypt, bringing the number of the wounded being treated in Egypt to 53, said MENA.
About 380 Palestinians have been killed so far and more than 1,700 others wounded in the powerful offensive which Israel declared was in retaliation for nearly daily cross-border rocket attacks by Palestinian militants.
