Israeli warplanes on Saturday continued heavy bombardment against Gaza Strip for the eighth day in a row, focusing their airstrikes on the northern territories of the enclave.
The ongoing aerial onslaught killed four Palestinians early on Saturday morning, including three Hamas fighters. Two of them were hit by an Israeli drone while monitoring the borders with Israel in east of Jabaliya refugee camp, another girl died of wounds she sustained when the warplanes struck at her family house in eastern Gaza city.
The third militant was a senior commander called Abu Zakareya al-Jamal. The Israeli warplanes targeted him when he was inspecting fighters who monitor the Israeli gunboats in the west of Gaza city.
The latest casualties brought the death toll to 434 on the Palestinian side since the beginning of the attacks two weeks ago. The number of wounded people stands around 2,290.
Meanwhile, the Israeli F16 warplanes and Apache helicopters intensified strikes throughout Gaza Strip. Most of the attacks hit open spaces, which, according to Israel, were used by the Palestinian militants to fire rockets into its border communities.
The strikes were unprecedentedly constant. Residents of northern Gaza said they counted 23 strikes between midnight and Saturday morning.
In central Gaza Strip, the Israeli planes swooped at two bridges, blocking the movement between southern Gaza Strip and Gaza city.
