Jordan's King Abdullah II on Tuesday affirmed that Jordan will continue its intensive efforts to stop the Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip, according to the Royal Hashemite Court.

The King made the remarks during a meeting with visiting Speaker of the Interim Arab Parliament (IAP) and member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Kuwaiti Parliament Mohamed Jassemal-Saqr.

He said Jordan puts all its services and potentials at the service of Palestinian people, as well as providing all kinds of support and assistance.

Al-Saqr briefed King Abdullah on the results of the emergency meetings of IAP held in Cairo to discuss the Israeli aggression on Gaza.

Al-Saqr arrived in Amman late Monday for a two-day visit, during which he held talks with senior Jordanian officials on the situation in Gaza.

Israel launched airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Dec. 27 and a ground operation on Jan. 3. More than 600 Palestinians have been killed and 2,700 others injured so far in the ongoing conflict.
