Four Israelis were wounded Thursday morning by rockets launched from southern Lebanon on northern Israeli towns of Naharia and Galeli, pan-Arab al-Jazeera TV reported.
In response, the Israeli army shelled Hamra, al-Jiben, and TayrHarfa towns in southern Lebanon, from where the rockets were launched.
No information released to who is responsible for launching the rockets from southern Lebanon.
The Israeli side has confirmed that four rockets landed inside Israel, and five people were slightly wounded.
Israel ruled out the involvement of Hezbollah in the rocket launching, the report said.
However, Lebanese officials have ruled out any Hezbollah's intentions to open a front from Lebanon, but Hezbollah chief HasanNasrallah said Wednesday that Hezbollah is ready for any confrontation with Israel.
Nasrallah threatened that his party would show the Israelis what they did not see in 2006 war if they dare to "come to our homes."
Israel and Hezbollah fought 34-day war in 2006.
